Feed is the biggest single cost in a piggery. It accounts for around 60% of the total costs. Feed costs per pig is made up to two factors, the feed cost ($ per tonne of feed) & the amount of feed used (Feed Conversion). Feed costs are relatively fixed (dependant on ingredient prices) and can only really be fine tuned (i.e by using "The Lean Team" piggery model). Feed conversion can be improved by many nutritional & management factors (again which the "Lean Team" can identify), but by far the easiest way to reduce this is to eliminate Feed Wastage.

Pigs/Shed: 6 drop feeder with 35 pigs/tube	210 pigs
